"Ezekiel Brown Windham" well done, good and faithful servant...

From the very beginning you were a sweet, furry, lovable dog...

who could sleep in any position...

You grew into a loyal dog...

who still slept a lot.

You welcomed Mr. Maxwell Trousers into the family...

and took a lot of grief from him...

especially as he outgrew you and then some!

We knew your heart was giving out...

but the boys begged you to stay a little longer...

Thank you for giving us these past extra 6 weeks to love on you,  and let you know how much we appreciated you Ol' Zekers.

This is how you will forever be remembered...with a toy in your mouth:)

Today was a sad day... we all cried...

but Rowan said "at least Natalie and Julian can take care of him now" and agreed that "he's probably chasing Chrissie and Jalene around Heaven".

Farewell Zeke.

Rowan tried consoling Max, but he is just so distraught.  He and Zeke are best buddies, and have been brothers for nearly 5 years.  He's going to need a lot of lovin' on in the days to come. Rowan said, "Now I know why Max is the one with the white cross.  He needs it now."

(its kind of hard to see here, but Max has a white patch of fur in the shape of a cross on his chest.)

Max sniffed all around the house, looked out all the doors and windows, and paced and paced, looking for his buddy.  Then we lifted the blanket to show him.  He looked at Zeke, then up at me, then back at Zeke, and back up at me.  He knew.

After that he just laid here in the kitchen, watching over Zeke until "Paws in Heaven" came to get him...

Then Max got one of Zeke's toys...

and slowly...

nudged it over to him...

until it lay at Zeke's feet...

Sweetest thing I have ever seen between two dogs, I mean two brothers.

We toasted to you today Zeke...

May you rest in peace, and run freely in Heaven.

Say hi to Harley for us.

Thanks for being such a good dog:

 Ezekiel "Zeke" Brown Windham
