"Believe in friendship...I couldn't live without it."

Rowan had a birthday party to go to today.  It was for one of his very best friends from the hospital.  It was held at a painting parlor in San Antonio, and he was so excited.

This is the painting that they were taught to paint today...

...and they had so much fun doing it.

...even her Dad:)

It was so cute to watch them each put their own special touches on their painting.

Rowan, Charlotte and I all thought it was a pretty perfect party, especially since they met each other in the art room at the hospital.

After they all finished their paintings, it was time to sing Happy Birthday and cut the cake.

Sweet Charlotte ran over to get Rowan some special suckers of his own, because she knew he couldn't have the cake.

They are just so stinkin' adorable!

Rowan wanted Charlotte to open her present before he left, so she did.  He made sure it was filled with glitter (mess free glitter:), because he remembered her saying "Glitter makes everything more fancy!" in the art room many many months ago.  Now, anytime he sees anything sparkly or glittery, he says "Charlotte would love this!"

Here she is thanking him.  This picture just exudes joy and friendship. You don't see the battles they are both fighting.  You can't see the struggles they face daily.  You just see two very happy, loving friends...I love it so much!

Before we left they played a quick game of Tic-Tac-Toe (it's kind of tradition for them, and they are both really good at it!)...

And rightfully so, the birthday girl won this time!

I asked Charlotte if she picked out the napkins, because I thought they were so pretty.  She smile her big toothy smile, and said "Yes!"

Rowan read the napkin, and said "Believe in Friendship".  Then he said, "Believe in it...I couldn't live without it."

Thank you for such a fun birthday painting party...

and for your very special friendship!  We love you Charlotte!

I hope this post reminds people to cherish their own special friendships, like Rowan does.
