"Toughest Dog in Texas Competition"

Rowan loves animals, especially dogs.  And he has a special place in his heart for Law Enforcement K-9s.  Rowan's home nurse's husband is a deputy with the Comal County Sheriff's Department, and he allowed Rowan to be involved in the first graduating class of their K-9 training program this past year.  Rowan was asked to go out on the field and hide a pair of car keys for one of the dogs to find.  Rowan was so honored to be a part of that graduation ceremony.  He talks about it all the time, and he knows all of the dogs in their department by name.

Then, a few months later, during one of Rowan's long hospitalizations they made a special visit to the hospital to see him.   Here are some pictures of Rowan reuniting with the K-9 graduates.

They even brought him a picture of the Comal County Sheriff Department's K-9 Unit,
signed by the Sheriff:)

Thanks Sheriff Bob Holder, Deputy Duane Buethe & the rest of the Department, and a very special thanks to "Rex", "King", "Nitro", and "Titan"!

Now, comes the big news...Deputy Duane, along with Comal County Sheriff's Office & the New Braunfels Police Department are holding the first ever "Toughest Dog in Texas" Competition, with proceeds to benefit the Rowan Jameson Windham Foundation.  Please visit the link:
and see what an amazing event they have organized for this coming October.
It'll blow your socks off! Rowan couldn't be more excited or more proud to have the dogs and their handlers participate in this competition in his honor, so he can help out even more kids like himself who are so often hospitalized for their illnesses.

Spread the word, come out and watch the fun, and be a part of the first ever "Toughest Dog in Texas" Competition. Rowan will be there, as will all his K-9 buddies.

God bless all the K-9 dogs and their handlers, Deputy Duane, and all Texas Law Enforcement Agencies,  as well as all of the sponsors of this wonderful event!

"It's official! Rowan is an honorary firefighter!"

Rowan received the most amazing package from Louisiana today!
Remember, Rowan came back from New Orleans with a real firemen's helmet a little over a week ago.  Well, now it is official...He is an Honorary Operator/Firefighter.
See for yourself...

That isn't all though, not by a longshot. He now has his own official fireman shirts and baseball cap, embroidered with his name and the Terrytown 5th District Volunteer Fire Department logo.

To make this precious gift even more special, the hat is also monogrammed with Rowan's name and inscribed with a treasured note from Matt Ducote,
the fireman who took Rowan on the ride in the fire truck in New Orleans.

Rowan's favorite part of the package though, was this badge.  The same badge number as Matt, for Rowan to proudly wear himself.  As I tried to keep handing Rowan one item at a time, that was in the package, he just kept grabbing the badge back from the table.  He said "This is real Mom! This is a real shiny medal! I can't believe it. I'm #21!"

Next up, was an actual St. Florian Emblem, the Patron of Firefighters.
St. Florian protects and watches over firefighters, and now Rowan has his very own!

And of course they sent Rowan multiple patches to sew into all the shirts they sent him.  So cool!

It just kept getting better and better though! Matt's wife made Rowan a fire truck blanket too.
He snuggled right up into it!

So many treasures, so much excitement in one box, it brought us to tears! Truly blessed by Matt Ducote, his wife Megan, his Chief Bryan Adams and the whole gang at the Terrytown 5th District Volunteer Fire Department. Thank you once again from the bottom of our hearts.

Hopefully the following pictures say it all...you made one little boy feel very very special today!
He will cherish these items for the rest of his life, that much is certain.

Rowan just told me to tell you:

Thank you so much Operator/Firefighter #21,
from Junior Operator/Firefighter #21:)
"Brothers' til the end!"

God bless you!
Love, Rowan
