When I was talking to Rowan about what that meant he said, "Oh I understand that. Like I was more worried about Christa being in the hospital than me, and I was more happy for her to get to home even if it was before me. And, how I'm in the hospital, but I still did my lemonade stand for Kidd's Kids." I am so proud that he doesn't just memorize it, but he actually gets it.
While we are on that subject, I wanted to give everyone the details of Rowan's next and final Kidd's Kids Fundraising Event for the Summer. And since it falls the day before his 7th birthday, he wants this event to be his birthday celebration too. Instead of birthday presents, Rowan wants you to come support his Kidd's Kids Fundraiser instead:-) He said, "that's another way I can show that I value others above myself, right?." So, we hope you all can join us:
Outside there will be a Pop-up Barbeque Restaurant, serving delicious food prepared by COPA Wine Bar, plus Rowan pouring his spectacular ginger lemonade (in person this time, not from the hospital bed), signing his lemonade motto card below, and passing out his recipe card. Inside will be seating, wine and beer, and Rowan's Iron Man Birthday Cake! The donation/cost is $20 per adult, or $50 for a family. All proceeds will benefit Kidd's Kids.
