While Rowan was in the hospital this last time, he received one of the best packages he has gotten in the mail...ever! A dear friend, from Zoe and Ian's Harvest Schools Days, surprised us and spent the past several months making him this special quilt. She follows his story on Facebook but has not seen him in 7+ years, since he was an infant. I was just blown away at how perfectly she chose the fabrics, the scriptures, and the photos. They are all representative of such important parts of his life. It may be called "Rowan's Big Foot Quilt 2014" but it represents so much more than his love and fascination of Sasquatch. She included some of our very favorite family photos, plus a picture of Rowan holding his angel friend Chrissie's photo, a picture of him with his all-time favorite therapy dog Cindy (on a walk outside of the hospital!), a picture of one of his most prized possessions- Fireman Matt Ducote's note to him, written inside a hat, Kidd Kraddick's sign-off "Keep looking up, cuz that's where it all is!", etc.
Here are pictures of this gorgeously crafted, super special, made with love quilt. And as you can see, Rowan was as enamored of it as I was. He couldn't stop looking at all the personal touches. Then he curled up on it and snuggled up in it. Thank you Debbie Zintgraff! We will treasure it forever!
This one says it all...look at that SMILE!
Such a beautiful gift Debbie...Thank you from the bottom of our hearts!
